Sisters and Brothers Keeper for Life
A Non-Profit Organization
In 2010, Sisters and Brothers Keeper for Lifewas born out of a simple but profound desire to make a difference. Mrs. Carolyn Verdin, along with her four daughters Sade', Lindsey, Leah, and Alexis saw the struggle of women in Battered Women’s Shelters across Louisiana. They knew they had to act. These women, forced to leave their homes with little more than courage and hope, often arrived at shelters with nothing. Moved by their stories, the Verdins committed to filling a critical gap: providing purses filled with essential toiletries to these women during the Christmas season.
Since then, through the kindness of our partners and supporters, we have been able to donate over 400 purses and toiletries each year to seven shelters across Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Landry, and South Terrebonne Parishes. Each purse is more than a bag—it is a symbol of love, care, and dignity for women who are rebuilding their lives.

We are deeply grateful to our partners and supporters who share in this mission of love and care. Together, we are making a difference one purse, one woman, one story at a time.
